Very First Blog

I don't have a lot to say at the moment, as I am anticipating that Oliver will be up any second from his nap. I guess a short introduction is in order.

I'm Erica, wife to Leslie and mother to Oliver. I made numerous friends through two years of TTC and two miscarriages, sadly I have let many of those lapse after little Ollie arrived. It has now been almost 1 year (crazy!) and I feel like it is time to reconnect with past friends. There is a certain bonding that happens among women who have gone through loss than cannot be replicated with other friends who , thankfully, have not gone through a pregnancy or infant loss. I am really looking forward to catching up with everyone and making more new friends along the way.

I am basically a SAHM; we do not send Oliver to day care, but I also work and go to school. I am co-owner of a dog walking/pet care service here in Chicago. Most days its a good job to have other days it makes me want to scream - but I think that is the way it is with any job. I am taking online classes to finish up my Bachelor's in Health Care Management, then directly on to my Master's. I am hoping to eventually work in the fertility field, once Oliver starts school.

Leslie and I have recently decided that we are going to be trying for another baby around the time Oliver turns 2. It some ways that seems so far away, but in other ways I feel like that is way too soon. We aren't doing anything to prevent pregnancy so if it happens sooner we will be thrilled. I can't help thinking that I will be robbing Oliver of his "only child" phase though.

I will leave you with some pics of my little man!

The boy is awake and we are off to Starbucks - Mommy needs her fix!
